T:A:R:L:A Dance for the Camera Festival 2010 Screening About T:A:R:L:A Archives

Taryn + Carla = T:A:R:L:A

In 1944, 3 members of Orchesis (at that time a dance club at Iowa State University) combined their names (Barbara + Jean + Charlotte) to title what was to become an annual dance concert tradition in Ames, Iowa: Barjche (pronounced as "bar-shay").  Orchesis I now produces Barjche every February.

In keeping with tradition and making a new one, 1 faculty member (Taryn) and 1 student (Carla) came together to produce the 1st Annual T:A:R:L:A Dance for the Camera Festival in February, 2007. The first year was successful! Work was screened that arrived from Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York and Iowa. The screening took place in Fisher Theater at the Iowa State Center. Awards were given out based on a jury of 4 people.

This year we will screen the dances for the camera in the Memorial Union's Cardinal Room on April 15th.  The event is free and open to the public.
